An Insect walked nervously down the dark corridor. The ambiance of the hideout was never exactly cheery, but on this particular day, the malevolence was so thick in the air that even the battle hardened patrol leader felt nervous. Of course, the news he was about to deliver may have been a factor as well. The Insect continued walking at a slow and leisurely pace ? for all he knew, it could be his last minutes on Beastia. He must choose his words wisely ? the commander was not in a good mood.
Suddenly, the Insect Patrol Leader heard footsteps, and quickly turned around. Despite the tension in the air, he chuckled to himself and thought, “It seems I’m not alone.” And indeed, behind him was a comrade; it was the patrol leader of another division. The two Insects looked each other in the eyes and nodded, there were no need for words. They both knew that the news they were delivering would be the same. Together, they stepped into the chamber of the mysterious Insect Commander.

The mysterious Insect Commander paced his chamber, furious. The HolyBeasts had thwarted his plans once again, rescuing their precious pet fragments. In his frustration, the commander picked up his darling wrecked chair and threw it at the entrance to his private chamber. A loud cracking noise was heard as the chair fell into dozens of pieces. Behind the location of impact, the two Insect Patrol Leaders stood shaking. The commander raised an eyebrow, not expecting any visitors at such a time.
“Co..commander, sir!” the Insects saluted. The commander nodded, giving them permission to speak. “I’m afraid there’s some more ba..bad news, sir! Th-the HolyBeasts have again broken past the patrols in Windgrove Shrine Gate, who were meant to barricade Firebird Castle. The army of the Bird Clan were t-too much for us!”
“The warriors of the Dog Clan have also sl-slaughtered the patrols in Growling Coast and around Wood Dog Castle…” the other insect said nervously, avoiding eye contact with the commander.
“Fools!” the Insect Commander spat angrily. The two lesser Insects stood where they were, afraid to move without being dismissed… or worse. “The six Immortal Clans of Beastia are definitely powerful,” the commander lectured, “But we, the Insects, are the ultimate weapons engineered by the descendents of the five Elemental Clans! Not even the great Taurus Clan was a match during the war betw-…” The commander stopped mid-speech, an idea forming in his head. Who would the HolyBeasts choose to defend; their allies or their own clan? “Together, they stand… but apart, they shall fall!” he thought.
“Go gather the other leaders and prepare for a meeting,” the commander barked. “And find me a new chair while you’re at it.” The mysterious Insect Commander laughed maliciously as the two Insects scurried from his chamber. The atmosphere of the hideout had suddenly become much lighter.
To be continued...
